I don't know why people want to put the Harmony school system down. My son has been attending the Harmony school of Ingenuity since they open three years ago and at that time it was truly a blessing to me. I live in Ft. Bend and the Schools my son is zone to attend are not up to part and the ft. Bend school district has done everything to keep parents like me that believe my son has the right to a good education, from getting one. It should not matter where I live in Ft. Bend.

Prior to Harmony, I had to lie on application, use friends address, phone number etc. in order to get my son the best public school education he is entitled too. I don't have the worries of being caught anymore. Not only is my son getting a private school education at a public school cost, he's getting so much more; he has an extended family.

My son is a part of their CRLP (College Readiness leadership program) and Science Olympus, he has mentors that actually care about him as a person and believe in him, and willing to go beyond to make sure he has every opportunity to be successful.

Ft. Bend county and Harris county school system can not give my son what he's getting from the Harmony school system. None of these school systems are perfect; they all have flaws; however, I will remain faithful to Harmony because over the last three years they have shown me that they will remain faithful to my son.

WE pulled my daughter out of public school last year and placed her in Harmony, due to the lack of control, structure, and academics my daughter was getting. The kids were out of control and we were in a good school, and district. My daughter is a straight A student and by putting her in Harmony she has excelled beyond what we ever thought she was capable. This truly is an amazing school. Their dedication during the week, and even on most weekends is very high. They truly want the kids to succeed and are giving them all the tools needed. Those of you that say to "fix the public schools", how long are we supposed to wait for that to happen?? How long are we supposed to let our kids education suffer? Where my kids end up in life is all that matters to me, which is why my other two will be students next year as well. I am all for the wide array of ethnicities of the teachers that work there, because they are doing it right. Maybe instead of listening to crap people are reading, and I truly believe it is crap. You should go tour a school, watch how in tune those kids are. How they learn. What ever Harmony is doing, everyone else should take notes because it is working. Everyone should model their schools around them.

As a Hispanic, non-Muslim board member of one of the other charter schools based on the Harmony system (and thus lumped into the category as a "Gulen School") I can tell you that so far from our board's investigations, these accusations are all baseless and due to some truly horrible journalism that left out important facts. I also served in the U.S. Army Reserves for 8 years and have travelled and lived in many Muslim countries. I also did my graduate studies in counter-terrorism research for many years. Having seen REAL Muslim extremists in the Middle East I know the difference between radicals and normal moderate Muslims. All of the Turks I've met affiliated with the Raindrop Foundation (which is the real Gulen organization) have been some of the most moderate (if not liberal) and honest Muslims I've ever met. I have no problems with any of the faculty being members of that organization. I've known them for a decade and they have never tried to convert me or anything like that and I am 100% certain that nothing Islamic is being promoted in the schools by our educators. I've also never been approached by either the TEA or by any parents regarding these allegations. However it is election season and sadly certain political groups and a few politicians have decided to use our children's education and their future as a political game and for making money off of donations, advertising, and other means of revenue off of their blogs. All we can do is speak Truth to Power and keep supporting our educators that are doing the right thing.

I totally agree with your comments regarding the family atmosphere. I volunteered as PTO President and I absolutely love the expectation that parents will be heavily involved in their child's success. My children attend Harmony School of Ingenuity and I couldn't be happier. I consider it a poor man's private school. The teachers and administrative staff are excellent - and regarding the Islamic comments: pure rubbish. I did my research and there is nothing there. My children are not indoctrinated to anything except a love of education, culture, and excellence. Having attended River Oaks Elementary and other Vanguard programs in HISD back in the day, I have to say personally this school ranks among the best. They seek input from parents and have the expectation that you want to do what is best for your child's education and school and are engaged with parents and children. Wonderful wonderful school I am so glad that my children attend.

Stop there dear sir/madam!

First of all, when you want to express your ideas you have to be kind and open to other thoughts even you don't agree with them. Otherwise the conversation will be waste of time.

Secondly, either you don't have any idea how fast and growingly HSA Schools spreads throughout of state (reached #33 already in 10 years) nor you don't know how many hundreds of students are impatient in the waiting list to be enrolled next year.

Thirdly, although you don't like and respect; lots of selected people and numerous valued, well-educated, well-known people in the cities and state are applouding this educational improvement in each academic events related to the schools. They have very good reputation everywhere. People always appreciate well-done jobs everywhere, even though there are some(!) jealous and pessimistic ones who will never be able to see the beauties around themselves and deserve the happiness in their lives.

I hope one day everybody will see the fruit of this wonderful education in these schools served just for human beings disregarding their etnicity, race, color, beliefs, nations, etc.

Thanks for all the staff who works in HSAs.

Our son has attended Harmony Science Academy (HSA-SA) a collage preparatory, science and engineering school, since it first opened in 2006. The administrators and a portion of their staff are Turkish and of the Muslim faith. My family practices the Catholic religion and it has never been mentioned to us to convert or practice the Muslim faith. Unlike the public school my son previously attended, we have been closer to the administrators and staff because they try and extend a family atmosphere. The teachers will work late and on weekends to assist their students. Home visits help the staff understand a student’s environment and any special circumstances they might need additional help with. The schools goal is to get all the students to attend and graduate from college with emphasis in the field of science. The United States is currently falling behind in this area at an unacceptable rate. During my son’s time at HSA-SA, with the encouragement and guidance of their excellent staff, he has achieved more than we could have ever imagined. Paul currently has a 4.0 GPA. He has been participating and placing at numerous science fair competitions for the past four years with one of his favorites being ISWEEEP (International Sustainable World (Energy, Engineering, Environment) Project Olympiad) which includes students from public and private schools throughout the United States and the World. Below is a list of the awards he won just this past year.

Junior Academy of Science Competition Feb 2011 – 4th Grand Prize Science Technology Engineering and Math Poster Board Competition (STEM) Jan 2011 – 1st Grand Prize ($1000.00) Harmony Science Academy-SA School Wide Science Fair 1st Grand Prize ($200.00) ISWEEEP Project Olympiad – Silver Medal –Senior Division- Apr 2010 ($800.00) International Sustainable World (Energy, Engineering, Environment) Project Olympiad – US Navy Special Award –Senior Division- Apr 2010	Alamo Regional Science & Engineering Fair – 2rd Place Math & Computers –Senior Division Mar 2010	Alamo Regional Science & Engineering Fair – 1st Place Mu Alpha Theta Special Award – Mar 2010	Alamo Regional Science & Engineering Fair – 1st Place Association of Old Crows – Mar 2010	Alamo Regional Science & Engineering Fair – Society of American Military Engineers – Mar 2010 ($200.00)	Alamo Regional Science & Engineering Fair - $1500.00 Scholarship for I-SWEEEP – Mar 2010	Alamo Regional Science & Engineering Fair – US Air Force Special Award – Mar 2010	Alamo Regional Science & Engineering Fair – US Navy Special Award – Mar 2010	University of the Incarnate Word- $2000.00/yr Scholarship Renewable for 4 years – Mar 2010	Alamo Regional Junior Academy of Science –2nd Place Math & Computers- Senior Division – February 2010)

These blog’s are bogus means bogus. I have two kids and both of my kids are going to Harmony School of Science. This school has Turkish, Mexican and American teachers and all of them are very knowledgeable. This school has students from all over the world and they all behave well. Nationality or Religion has nothing to do with the Harmony schools. I never had any problem with the school staff or with teaching materials or with books. Teachers do an excellent job spending their personal time helping the students after hours of the school to reach the academic goals. I really appreciate their efforts and sacrificing their time supporting students education. They are very dedicated. Teachers encourage students to participate in competitions and they do give free SAT tutoring in the weekdays and even in the weekends. Where in the world teachers are spending their personal time tutoring students? People who doesn’t have any thing to do are spreading all this bogus blogs about the schools now. Please stop all this bullshit it may cause bad effect on students who doesn’t even think of all this Crap.
